Find out all about the Australia-Indonesia relationship by reading of people to people activities, links, ties and exchanges in the KGI magazine, on this website and by listening to KGI's weekly radio program on one of KGI's network of 170 radio stations across the country.

Kang GURU Indonesia (KGI) English language and information services to Indonesia started in 1989 as Kang Guru Radio English. This means that Kang GURU Indonesia (an AusAID activity in Indonesia) is celebrating 20 years of service as a part of the Australia Indonesia relationship.

Don't forget to read about this 20 year milestone in the March, June and September 2009 magazines. With over 3,500,000 hits on this KGI website to August 2009, KGI is now even bigger and better than ever in its long life in Indonesia! Be sure to stay tuned to one of the 170 radio stations broadcasting Kang GURU all over Indonesia to hear all of Kang GURU's latest news and information about the English language, the many Australia-Indonesia links, activities and relationship including latest news of the Australia Indonesia Partnership (AIP) in Indonesia.

As an active part of the Australia-Indonesia Partnership, Kang GURU is proud to present a weekly English language radio program on close to 170 radio stations across Indonesia. That means around 225 broadcasts EVERY week from Sabang to Meureke!

Kang GURU, with support from the Australia-Indonesia Partnership (AIP), AusAID and the Indonesia Australia Language Foundation (IALF), also produces a FREE English language magazine each March, June, September and December. This magazine is distributed to thousands of registered listeners, around 900 educational institutions along with language clubs, local NGOs and AIP projects/activities, and their partners in Indonesia.

This comprehensive Kang GURU website, including the Forum, attracted over 6,000,000 hits last year. That's a lot of hits! Besides browsing the regular website pages, try the popular KGI FORUM — register your Personal Profile and leave your own message for other English language learners to read and enjoy.

Excellent English language materials are available for students and English language teachers. The SMP Teacher Package for junior high school teachers and the SMA Teacher Package for senior high school teachers are packages of supplementary materials to assist teachers in their busy classrooms. Both of these packages are directly linked to the current English language curriculum used in Indonesian schools. Both packages currently under complete revision.

The Staff of Kang GURU together with the Indonesia Australia Language Foundation, welcome you to this website designed primarily for you — the English language learner in Indonesia and for the person who is interested in Australia — good neighbors make good friends.
