Kang GURU Travels to Jakarta, May 2008

This trip was a little unusual as it actually began with a trip to Singapore. Kevin had things to do there before finally arriving in Jakarta for the Australia Indonesia Partnership/AusAID Team Leaders Meeting.

Singapore is a wonderful place to vist. It is close to Indonesia and just 1 hour or so from Jakarta. On airlines such as Lion Air passengers can fly to Singapore from Jakarta for as little was Rp 47,000 but that price is with out taxes. Singapore is a modern city with fantastic infrastructure such as a well planned system of highways and roads, railroad systems including the underground, a huge airport at Changi and all the hotels you’d ever want. There are hundreds and hundreds of place to find excellent food from countries all around the world. The variety is quite amazing.

Having returned to Jakarta, Kevin attended the first AusAID Team Leaders meeting at the Borobodur Hotel along with 70 - 80 other team leaders and contractors. It was great to catch up with people from other projects and activities working under the banner of the Australia Indonesia Partnership (AIP).
